2010 AND BEYOND:
A decision has been taken to relook at the format and
identity of MSM: Multi-Sport Magazine. Over the last seven years we have aimed
to up the ante on the coverage of triathlon and multi-sport news in South
Africa. While we have succeeded in some aspects, we have not been able to
attract the kind of advertising support that makes the magazine truly viable.
As such – MSM: Multi-Sport Magazine will no longer be published as a bi-monthly
magazine. We are aiming to concentrate on revamping the website and improving
the content quality of both this as well as the digital newsletter which
reaches all of our readers as well as many other multi-sport athletes that we
have engaged with from our involvement in some of the best races locally.
Our website will remain and, over the next couple of months, will be upgraded
to become what we were never able to achieve in our printed version due to the
immense costs associated with this. In addition, the two-months between printed
issues saw much of the copy become outdated and stale – and we are excited by
the opportunities offered by New Media.
Our partnership in Tri&Du Sport remains strong and we will once again be
involved in the Freshpak Fitness Festival, the (Dirty) Durbanville Duathlon
and, of course, Jailbreak (which remains Cape Town’s premier endurance
triathlon and celebrates its fifth anniversary this year).
